ABOUT THE ARTIST:

August DeMarea (he/they) is an Illustrator, Designer, and Curious Cowboy based in Kansas City, Missouri. They are specialized in conceptual development, design, and print-based media. August has a passion for telling stories through abstract imagery, expressive illustration, and marrying design and illustration together. In his personal practice, August tells stories through abstracting familiar forms that reference folklore, pop culture, and social topics. Aside from art, August loves to cook for their friends, take care of plants, and be silly in their spare time.
