My Great Grandmother, Cora, lived in a farmhouse in Osage Beach, MO, in the early-mid 1900s. As a pastime, women in the neighborhood would gather to sew a quilt for someone in their group, usually using fabric scraps accumulated from making their own clothing. After decades of convivial quilting and passing these heirlooms down, my mom has inherited about a dozen family quilts. For this collection, I took inspiration from the piles of quilts hanging on racks and stacked in closets in my childhood home.
