Our latest artist collaboration with Paulina Otero celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month.

For this specific collaboration, Paulina took inspiration from her favorite designs seen on both her tufted and jewelry pieces. The main intention is that her designs would be translated into the surface design of Wandering Bud’s ceramic vessels. Paulina has carefully glazed and carved each piece to resemble the colors and textures found in her compositions. Each one of these pieces is inspired by different bodies of work. 

The Lorelei Nebula, Kagua and Agaricia Blossom are a direct reference to her artworks collection titled “Undertow.” This body of work happened as an appreciation for the ocean’s natural landscape. Paulina was studying underwater creatures such as oysters, fish, coral reefs, and other vegetation. All the shapes, colors, and textures that can be found in the flora and fauna of the ocean inspired her so much. Since she grew up by the ocean, she felt the need to translate these characteristics into her own language by using fiber as her primary medium.

CLEANING + USE:

• Fill with approximately 1/4c of water before use. On the interior, a down stem extends from the bowl into the water at the base of the bubbler. This allows smoke to pass through the water, cooling it before reaching the mouthpiece.
• Easy to clean—use isopropyl alcohol + salt or any 420 cleaning solution. Additional cleaning details and tutorials are available in the FAQ section. 

But what is a bubbler? 

A bubbler is similar to a bong. Both bubblers and bongs use water filtration to cool the smoke before it reaches the mouthpiece, making for a smooth hit. A bong has a removable bowl/slide while a bubbler's bowl is fixed, similar to a hand pipe.
